The visa is temporary and usually lasts until the student turns 18 or completes their studies.

Hold adequate health insurance for the stay.
Meet health and character requirements.
Hold an eligible substantive visa if applying from within Australia.
Family Members
Generally, family members cannot be included in a Student Guardian visa.
Children under 6 are usually not eligible unless there are compelling reasons or it benefits Australia’s international relations.
Children aged 6 or older must apply for their own Student visa.
Visa Duration and Extension
Valid until the date specified on the visa grant letter.
Extensions are possible by applying for another Student Guardian visa, if eligible.

Additional charges for eligible family members, plus potential costs for health exams, police checks, and biometrics.
Reduced fees apply for eligible Pacific Island and Timor-Leste citizens.
